Joyce Frederick is this week's Rocky Neck Gallery featured artist for the Big Art Wall. Her powerful painting titled CRX#1 is a personal statement and celebration of being cancer free. This painting is based on a chest x-ray Frederick had in 2003. By having this x-ray from 03 it allowed her and her doctors to monitor the health of her lungs. She underwent surgery in January and treatment and is now exploring that process in a planned series of paintings. This is her first and it is a compelling painting to see.
