Former Goetemann Artist Resident, Ken Beck Highlights Celebration

A highlight of this year's celebration is a one-man exhibition of paintings by Ken Beck, a former Goetemann Artist Resident, who participated in a month-long residency on Rocky Neck in 2007.  He is the first Goetemann resident to be selected for an "Alumni Exhibition" that honors past residency artists.

Beck's work is about the New England coast and his relationship to the sea, including some paintings, like Rocky Face Study (right) that were completed during his 2007 residency.
This exhibits kicks off the Summer Artist Series : six 3-week shows by Rocky Neck Art Colony members, many of whom are not part of the gallery.

The Rocky Neck Gallery Artist Collective functions as a co-operative, sharing the gallery duties among the members and sharing commissions on sales with the Rocky Neck Art Colony. The gallery partners with the Cultural Center Gallery at 6 Wonson Street. Together they represent a program of the Art Colony to showcase regional contemporary artists.

Members include Kathleen Gerdon Archer, Katherine Bagley, Judith Bly, Cynthia Curtis, Susan W. Daly, Marci Davis, Phyllis Feld, Joyce Frederick, Elizabeth Gauthier, Deborah Geurtze, Dina Gomery, Susan Hershey, Jayne Lacey, Mary R. McCarl, Skip Montello, Michael Oleksiw, David Piemonte, Mary Rhinelander, Tom Robinson-Cox, Judy Robinson-Cox, Kate Somers, Pam Stratton, Martha Wakefield, Deborah Way and Ruth Worrall.

Please join in the celebration this Saturday night from 6-8 PM at 53 Rocky Neck Avenue, Rocky Neck, Gloucester!
