PHOTO BOOTH - 3 DAYS ONLY



Rocky Neck Gallery artists Judy Robinson-Cox and Tom Robinson-Cox will be participating in the exhibit Photo Booth with five other well-known New England photographers: Michael Seif (a former RNG artist), Joe Barnes, Steve Bentley, Michael Pepe and Charter Weeks.  This pop-up photography show opens this weekend for three days only at Gallery 206, on 206 Elm Street in Amesbury, MA . 

An artists' reception is this Friday night, April 26th, from 6-9 PM. Gallery hours are Saturday, 4/27, and Sunday, 4/28, from 11 - 5 PM.  This powerful show of talented visionaries in photography was organized by Stephen Martin of Gallery 206 - and is an art happening not to be missed.

RNG ARTISTS SELECTED FOR NATIONAL PRIZE SHOW

Toby Kamps, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, The Menil Collection juried the 2013 Cambridge Art Association 12th Annual National Prize Show From over 1400 artworks submitted by 478 artists from 21 states Kamps selected 114 artworks in a range of media. 

Rocky Neck Gallery is pleased to announce two of its artist members were invited to this prestigious show: Tom Robinson-Cox for Boat Yard Blues and Kathy Gerdon Archer for "The fur KT’s Dad gave to her Mother, for the care she showed him following his car accident."

This exhibit opens May 15th and runs until July 11th.  The art work will be shown at both the Kathyrn Schultz Gallery, at 25 Lowell Street, and the University Place Gallery at 124 Mt Auburn Street. - Both in Cambridge, MA.  The opening reception will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, at 5:30 - 8:30 PM in both galleries.  Congratulations to Kathy and Tom!

BoRN RECEPTION

The BoRN (Best of Rocky Neck) reception kicked off the 2013 season with a festive opening on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck.  Organized by RNAC Creative Director Gigi Mederos the exhibit featured work by 60 artists of the Rocky Neck Art Colony including 13 artists of the Rocky Neck Gallery.  A large crowd of artists, families, friends and fans gathered together to celebrate art, community and friendships.  Since "pictures say a 1000 words," please scroll down for the rest of the story.

SWING INTO SPRING



Rocky Neck Art Colony cordially invites you to Swing Into Spring on Sunday, April 28th at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck.  Please join us at 4 PM for an exciting evening of wine and cheese with the Cape Ann Big Band Swing Ensemble and Mari Martin; a dance performance by Sarah Slifer Swift followed by dinner at The Rudder.  Reserve early as seating is limited.  The cost is $125.00 per person.

MOSAIC WORKSHOP


Rocky Neck gallery's new member Pam Stratton is offering a mosaic workshop at the Rockport Art Association in Rockport, MA.  This special two day workshop will be held on April 13th & 14th, 2013, and is for beginner & intermediate mosaic artists.

Students will make an 8 x 8 inch Smalti mosaic in the large and beautiful Hibbard Gallery.  This is a two day workshop for the same price as Pam's one day workshop.  The hours will be 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM with a coffee break at 9 AM and a 1 hour lunch break.  If you are interested please sign up here.
